I don’t know anything about you. I don’t know your name, your background, what your childhood was like, what awful things you’ve done, what wonderful things you’ve done, what your current circumstances are, what your goals are, what your supposed flaws or abilities are, or how you ended up here reading this.
And to be honest, I don’t care to know. What I do care about, is you; what you are, because that much I do know… I know that you and I are this very moment. Our presence is the same. Our presence is the only thing that’s real about us.
Perhaps that’s worth repeating one more time: Our presence is the only thing that’s real about us.
Our experiences, accomplishments and failures are not what’s real because they’re not this very moment. They belong to a time-bound illusory identity. They belong to the mind- to the thing that we developed when we came into the world and to the thing that will be left behind when we leave it.
Certainly, the differences in our time-bound identities are what make life unique, but they’re also what make it confusing… because If you and I are one and the same, undivided at the heart of presence itself, then what’s not present, what’s in motion from the past to the future can only serve as a distraction from this beautiful, ultimate, timeless truth.
Take, for example, how the illusion of time works; this previously written article was written in the same moment that you’re experiencing right now as you’re reading this. Only the appearance of time has changed between this Now and your Now. Your Now and this Now are the same Now though. It’s never actually changed. Our essence has never been separated by time, no matter how much time has appeared to pass.
Time, has got nothing on us.
If you’re being honest, you know that you’ve never really aged a day in your life. The world around you has changed a lot, including the image you see in the mirror, but the you that has no image, that doesn’t belong to the world, that’s always been simply observing the comings and goings of life, has never understood what it means to age.
Do you really know what it means to get old?
When you were young, were you really young? Or were you just right now?
It’s funny how everything in life tells the story that you’ve started at point A and that you’re moving towards point B… and yet, in your own experience, you’ve never left your seat.
That’s what awakening is: waking up to the fact that you’ve never left your seat… that you’ve never been able to leave this moment… that NOTHING has ever been able to leave this moment.
And then, recognizing the implications of that… that everything in existence is unified… because it’s got nowhere else to go.

Spot on Kyle! What I’ve noticed is that “mind” likes to interpret the moment and always gets it wrong.
Makes it easy to get it right then! 😜🙏
